The purpose of the exercise, which has pooled representatives of the SEDM (South Eastern Europe Defence Ministries) member-states is to check the efficacy of the system of protection and rescue operations though bodies of the state administration.
The SEESIM project is based on the idea of linking through information technology simulation centres of SEDM member states.
Apart from SEDM members (Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, the United States, Slovenia and Turkey), members of the South Eastern European Brigade (SEEBRIG) will also take part in the exercise.
According to the scenario of the ongoing exercise, a ship transporting dangerous chemicals in the coastal area was attacked by terrorists and the local population as well as the environment are in danger.
