"I also want to see Croatia become a society with as few social
differences as possible," Sanader said at a ceremony marking Labour
Day, organised by the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of
Croatia (SSSH).
SSSH President Vesna Dejanovic said Labour Day had been marked for the
past 118 years in honor of workers who were killed in Chicago in 1886,
at demonstrations seeking an eight-hour working day.
The central ceremony marking Labour Day in Croatia will be held in
Zagreb's Maksimir Park. The present will be addressed by President
Stjepan Mesic and Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.
