ZAGREB, April 26 (Hina) - Croatia was granted the positive avis and now it is even closer to its objective which is the EU entry, Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul said at a reception given on the occasion of Croatia's winning
the invitation for negotiations on the EU membership in Zagreb on Monday.

occasion of Croatia's winning the invitation for negotiations on the
EU membership in Zagreb on Monday.#L#
The reception was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps
in Croatia, the President's Office, the Croatian government and the
media. Zuzul thanked the present on their contribution to winning the
positive avis. he also thanked the former Ivica Racan-led government.
Croatia won the positive avis because it managed to provide all
necessary documents in a very short notice, the head of a European
Commission delegation, Ambassador Jacques Wunenburger, said on behalf
of the diplomatic corps. He said Croatia had a difficult task to do
before June when the European Council would recommend the opening of
negotiations on joining the EU.
The ambassador praised the integration and foreign ministries which
provided answers to several thousand questions from the EC's
Questionairre in a very short notice,.
Last week the European Commission voiced positive opinion on Croatia's
EU membership application.
