PRISTINA, April 1 (Hina) - Western diplomats in Pristina have
positively assessed a plan for the implementation of standards in
Kosovo, which was introduced by UN Civil Administrator Harri Holkeri
and Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi on Wednesday.#L#
Holkeri and Rexhepi presented the document which defines the
implementation of standards in areas of the rule of law, economy,
property rights, dialogue with Belgrade, and the status of the Kosovo
protection corps. Holkeri said that standards referring to the return
of displaced and freedom of movement would have to be additionally
analysed.
The head of Germany's office in Pristina, Peter Rondorf, said after
talks with Holkeri, which were also attended by representatives of the
USA, France, Great Britain and Italy, that the latest violence in the
province called for changes to the plan for the implementation of
standards and that decentralisation was now one of the priorities.
Senior Serbian official Nebojsa Covic has told the Serbian media that
the plan for the adoption of standards led towards Kosovo's
independence and that Serbs must not take part in that process.
