PRISTINA, March 27 (Hina) - The Kosovo government said on Saturday the
resolution on Kosovo that the Serbian parliament adopted on Friday was
yet another "harmful" step which did not contribute to the
normalisation of the situation in the province.#L#
The resolution encourages the escalation of conflicts and deepens the
rift between the Albanian and Serb communities in Kosovo, the Kosovo
government said in a statement recalling that Serbian institutions
were not competent to decide about the fate of Kosovo citizens.
"The priority of the Kosovo government is construction and the removal
of damage caused by last week's violence and the promotion of the
dialogue between Kosovo institutions and the local Serb community,"
says the statement.
Muhamet Haimiti, spokesman for Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova,
dismissed the resolution as unacceptable, stating that such a document
increased tensions between the communities in Kosovo.
All Saturday issues of Kosovo Albanian-language dailies report on
their front pages about the resolution of the Serbian parliament.
