The fourth Francophony Days started at the French Institute with an
exhibition of photos by Zvonko Novosel. Present at the event was also
Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
Francophony Days were opened by Ambassador Bellanger, who made a short
address, and Canadian Ambassador Dennis Snider.
To be a member or monitor of the International Francophony
Organisation means to demonstrate love for the language that we share
and which we promote so that it could survive on five continents,
because it is a language that is very creative, beautiful and poetic,
as well as precise and irreplaceable in law and diplomatic service in
Brussels, New York, Geneva or Vienna, Bellanger said.
Bellanger said he was glad that a country like Croatia, which he said
was integrating into the European Union at high speed, had
demonstrated interest in the International Francophony Organisation.
