BELGRADE COURT SENTENCES MAN TO 20 YEARS IN JAIL FOR WAR CRIMES AGAINST CIVILIANS

BELGRADE, March 17 (Hina) - The Belgrade District Court on Wednesday sentenced a former member of the Serbian Interior Ministry's unit Scorpions, Sasa Cvjetan, to 20 years in jail for war crimes against civilians committed in Kosovo in 1999.#L# The panel of judges presided by Biljana Sinanovic gave Cvjetan the most severe sentence that could be given at the time the crime was committed.
