BELGRADE, Feb 23 (Hina) - A former Vice President of the Democratic Party (DS), Boris Tadic, was on Sunday elected president of this party which was led by the late Serbian Prime Minister, Zoran Djindjic, until his assassination on 12
March 2003.

Party (DS), Boris Tadic, was on Sunday elected president of this party
which was led by the late Serbian Prime Minister, Zoran Djindjic,
until his assassination on 12 March 2003.#L#
The new DS leader won 1,538 votes and the other candidate for the
presidential post, Zoran Zivkovic, won 296 votes at the party's
electoral convention in Belgrade on Sunday. Zivkovic has been the
party's acting president since Djindjic's murder.
Tadic, who is currently Defence Minister of Serbia-Montenegro, was on
the top of the DS slate at the recent parliamentary elections.
