Speaking at a news conference of the party's branch in Zadar on
Tuesday, Tadic said that all parliamentary parties except for the
Croatian People's Party supported the amendment. He dismissed claims
by HNS deputy Radimir Cacic that the HSP was currying favour with the
Italian Right.
"Cacic is a jerk who does not understand international law", Tadic
said.
If the government is forced to enter unfavourable deals with Italy,
the HSP will have no other choice but to open an issue which is
painful for Italy, the issue of compensation to Croatian citizens who
were imprisoned in Italian fascist camps on the island of Molat and in
Italy. Those citizens have been completely forgotten, Tadic said.
