International Women's Day.#L#
Representatives of women's associations submitted a petition called
"Not in Our Name - Not With Our Money" in which, along with
associations promoting women's rights from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia,
Montenegro and Macedonia, they urge competent institutions in each
country not to send their soldiers to so-called peace missions in
Iraq.
They ask of their countries not to hesitate with the extradition of
war crimes indictees to the International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia, stressing that defence costs should not be covered
with budgetary funds.
The women's associations also demand of their countries to proclaim
military neutrality and not to join military alliances, stressing that
women have always paid the highest price of war, militarism and
violence, and that as citizens they had the right to ask the state to
inform them of the spending of budgetary funds.
