ZAGREB, Feb 2(Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks on
Monday held talks with the ambassador of Serbia-Montenegro to Zagreb,
Milan Simurdic, Seks' office said in a press release.#L#
Seks voiced concern over recent attacks on property as well as on
safety and security of members of the ethnic Croat community and their
institutions in Vojvodina, and said he hoped that measures would be
taken so as to discourage perpetrators from committing similar
incidents in the future.
Ambassador Simurdic also pointed out some forms of incident-prone
behaviour towards members of the Serb community, and agreed that
radical options must be definitely prevented.
Seks and Simurdic said that the two countries had to promote permanent
dialogue as they attached great importance to the stability and
good-neighbourly relations in the region.
Simurdic said it was encouraging to see that the Serb community had
established good relations with the new Croatian government, and
voiced confidence that the election of its representatives to the
Croatian parliament could contribute to the further stabilisation of
bilateral relations and treatment of minorities.
