ZAGREB, Dec 9 (Hina) - The Croatian Government and pensioner
associations will continue to cooperate so as to improve the material position
of Croatian pensioners, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said on Friday after talks
between representatives of the Government, the Croatian Party of Pensioners
(HSU) and other pensioner associations held on the occasion of the second
anniversary of the signing of a cooperation agreement. The PM
expressed satisfaction with what had been done so far, although not all issues
from the agreement had been solved.
The most important thing is that the process of the return of the debt
to pensioners is under way, Sanader said.
He said a joint commission of the government and pensioners association
would continue to work on the pension reform and the solving of the remaining
issues.
HSU president Vladimir Jordan agreed with Sanader, adding that
pensioners would continue to work with the Government on the solving of
outstanding issues.
