ZAGREB, Nov 16 (Hina) - The Croatian Federation of Trade Unions
(HUS) issued a press release on Wednesday accusing the government of sending a
draft budget for 2006 into parliamentary procedure without previously
consulting social partners on their standpoints on the bill. HUS
also criticised the Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec in charge of the
economy for having been unavailable to HUS unionists over several months.
This federation of trade unions calls on other trade union federations
and civil society associations, particularly pensioners' societies, to organise
the signing of a petition for the abolishment of privileged pensions granted
only to parliamentarians and state officials.
