Drnovsek said in an interview he granted to the latest issue of the Slovene 'Mag' weekly that his views were the results of his experience with the initialled Slovene-Croatian border deal. In 2001, Drnovsek, who was at the time Slovene Prime Minister and the then Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan initialled the broder agreement.
"The Croatian side has failed to carry out necessary procedure for the adoption of the agreement which I concluded with Racan. Bilateral agreements are in cul-de-sac and now nobody has a clear vision whether to continue with them or in which way," Drnovsek said.
Other options are to go to arbitration, an international court or to freeze the current situation. In the latter case we should seek ways to prevent incidents which we have many times tried but with no major success, Drnovsek said.
