Asked about the Druzba Adria oil pipeline project, the president said he would like all aspects of the project to be discussed. "I am against campaigns that are not based on detailed studies," he said.
Commenting on the reform of the intelligence system, Mesic said that the reform was proceeding according to schedule.
"A draft bill on the secret services has been finalised and will soon be presented to the Government and Parliament for discussion," the president said, adding that it was a well-prepared bill that would not need upgrading once Croatia enters the final stage of EU membership talks.
Speaking of the construction of a bridge that would link the southern Peljesac peninsula to the mainland, Mesic said that the project should be discussed with Bosnia-Herzegovina because it also concerned Croatia's neighbour.
