Kalman said the talks focused on the UN Development Programme (UNDP).
President Mesic and I agree that Croatia needs technical rather than financial assistance, Kalman said.
According to him, Croatia needs to intensify cooperation with the UNDP in three areas - the country's preparations for Euro-Atlantic associations with a special emphasis on previously war-struck areas, fight against unemployment and Croatia's preparations to become a donor state which would assist poor countries.
The UN officials is scheduled to meet Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic on Friday.
