OSIJEK, Nov 22 (Hina) - The leader of the Croatian Democratic
Parliament of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB) civil association, Branimir Glavas,
has assessed as very important Monday's agreement between Osijek Mayor Anto
Djapic and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on funds from next year's budget to be
allocated to the eastern city of Osijek. Under the draft 2006 budget
and according to the Sanader-Djapic agreement, Osijek can expect one and a
half billion kuna next year.
"Along with the seven HSP members of parliament, we too are willing to
give our three votes (for the budget)," Glavas told a news conference on
Tuesday. The HDSSB has three deputies in the Croatian parliament.
This means that Djapic, the leader of the Croatian Party of Rights
(HSP), and Sanader yesterday negotiated on ensuring support for the budget from
the HSP and the HDSSB.
