Grabar-Kitarovic congratulated Ravlic on her appointment in the Government of Western Australia as the first minister born outside Australia, and thanked her for her demonstrated interest in Croatia and in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, the Croatian ministry said in a statement.
Ravlic showed interest in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, offering concrete technical assistance, and cooperation in the area of education. She proposed setting up a student exchange system as a way of promoting cultural and informal ties between citizens of Croatia and Australia.
During her visit to Perth, Grabar-Kitarovic also met representatives of the Croatian community at the Croatian Community Centre in North Fremantle and acquainted them with the current political situation in Croatia, with special emphasis on the process of Croatia's accession to the European Union, the statement said.
