In a statement carried by the Slovene news agency STA, the Union of Istrians demanded that a list be made of properties which had been owned by Italian refugees, but which were not nationalised, citing about 200 empty and unoccupied properties in the Slovene town of Koper.
The organisation said there was progress with regard to requests for the restitution of property due to pressure from Italian refugee organisations.
Lacota insists that Croatia and Slovenia should return the properties "from the moral and legal point of view" despite the view of the two countries that the issue was settled by the Rome Accords between Italy and the now defunct Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
According to the statement, Lacota has been invited to speak on the subjects of denationalisation and restitution of seized property on a Croatian television programme in Zagreb next week.
