Environmental Protection Department,Zeljko Vukovic told Hina on Monday.
BELI MANASTIR, Oct 24 (Hina) - A swan suspected of being infected
with bird flu has been spotted near the eastern Croatian village of Petrovo
Selo, near the Croatian-Hungarian border, a senior inspector of the Croatian
Culture Ministry's Environmental Protection Department, Zeljko Vukovic told
Hina on Monday. The swan was detected by Beli Manastir veterinary
officials who called Vukovic to run tests.
Vukovic said the bird was killed and sent to the Zagreb Veterinary
institute for analysis.
A state of immediate danger is in force in Serbia given the bird flu
situation in Croatia. The country banned the import and transportation of live
birds, poultry and poultry products from Croatia.
