Between October 3 and 18, laboratory tests for bird flu were done as part of passive monitoring on 52 dead birds of various sorts and all the results were negative, according to a report by the Croatian Veterinary Institute's Poultry Centre.
Twenty-three wild birds from Vransko Jezero lake and six wild and five domestic ducks from the Draganic area were examined as part of active monitoring. All the results were negative. Twenty-five wild birds from the Draganic area are being examine for bird flu.
The ministry said this week's monitoring would include the Kopacki Rit area and another three locations in eastern Croatia as well as the Neretva river area in the south.
