ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - The European Commission Delegation in Croatiaand the Croatian Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Ministry onTuesday presented a project on the strengthening of capacities in theconsumer protection field in
which the European Union investedEUR950,000 through the CARDS 2002 Programme.
ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - The European Commission Delegation in
Croatia and the Croatian Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Ministry on
Tuesday presented a project on the strengthening of capacities in the consumer
protection field in which the European Union invested EUR950,000 through the
CARDS 2002 Programme. The project was launched this July and is
expected to last until December 2006. It is aimed at assisting Croatia in the
process of the adjustment of the national legislation and practice in the
consumer protection to that of the EU member states.
The main beneficiaries of the funds from the CARDS programme are the
Economy Ministry, the State Inspectorate and nongovernmental organisations in
the consumer protection field.
The project will focus on the strengthening of the role of consumers on
the market.
