The match placed at Maksimir stadium was watched by 35,000 soccer fans, including Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks, most government ministers, the leaders of all parliamentary parties, and Sanader's guest, European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn.
Although the soccer match was labelled as a high security risk, the police said there were no incidents in the city or around the stadium.
Security was provided by 700 police and 450 guards, including nine police from Sweden for communication with the 2,000 Swedish fans attending the match.
