ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - The second meeting of the joint Croatian-EUparliamentary committee will be held in the European Parliament inBrussels on Tuesday and Wednesday and the agenda will also include adebate on Croatia's political
and economic situation and on themeeting of criteria for EU membership, the Croatian Parliamentreported on Thursday.
ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - The second meeting of the joint
Croatian-EU parliamentary committee will be held in the European Parliament in
Brussels on Tuesday and Wednesday and the agenda will also include a debate on
Croatia's political and economic situation and on the meeting of criteria for
EU membership, the Croatian Parliament reported on Thursday. The
meeting will focus on prospects for the start of Croatia's EU entry talks, the
development of relations between Zagreb and Brussels, the implementation of
justice and police reforms in Croatia, the return of refugees, the protection
of minority rights, privatisation and regional cooperation, the parliament
reported.
The joint parliamentary committee was founded following the European
parliament's decision dated March 2004 and the Croatian Parliament's decision
dated October 2004.
The committee meets twice a year, once in Croatia and once in Brussels.
The first meeting was held in the Croatian Parliament on 3 and 4 March
2005.
