It is said in the reports that Croatia has announced that it will request Australia to hand over the 50-year Vasiljkovic, a former commander of Serb paramilitary units in Croatia, who is accused of crimes committed during the 1991-1995 war and who now lives in Perth, western Australia.
Vasiljkovic, who holds Australian citizenship, used to be a member of the Australian army, the Australian radio station ABC reported.
"The Australian" daily on Thursday reported that Vasiljkovic returned to Australia last December and that he now teaches golf to members of the local Serb community in Perth.
Vasiljkovic told the daily that he had trained Serb conscripts, interrogated captured enemy soldiers and killed in combat. He admitted having commanded paramilitary units in the wars in the Balkans, but denied having committed war crimes and dismissed the accusations as war propaganda.
He also denied involvement in rapes, torture and killing of Muslims and Croats, claiming that he was not a war criminal and that his soldiers did not commit crimes in combat, the news agency dpa reported.
