LJUBLJANA, Sept 9 (Hina) - Slovene President Janez Drnovsek on
Friday expressed his support for the Slovene government's bill declaring an
ecological zone in the Adriatic Sea and said that its passage would accelerate
delimitation of the sea border. Drnovsek was speaking at a press
conference devoted to the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the United
Nations.
The Slovene president said that similar zones had been set up by other
Adriatic countries. "The zones will overlap and a settlement will have to be
reached," he said, adding that this would only speed up an agreement between
Slovenia and Croatia.
