The Slovene Government on Thursday sent the bill on declaring an ecological zone and an epicontinental shelf to parliament to be discussed under urgent procedure. The Croatian Government dismissed this decision.
Tadic told a news conference that the epicontinental shelf referred to the sea-bed outside some country's territorial waters which are bordering with international waters. In the Adriatic, these countries are Croatia, Montenegro, Italy and Albania, he said.
If Slovenia adopts the bill on declaring its epicontinental shelf, Croatia would have to sue Slovenia before the International Court of Justice or the the international court on maritime law, Tadic said.
