The Croatian media have reported that the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has requested a retrial in the Blaskic case one day before the expiry of a year-long deadline for appeals to the verdict, under which Blaskic was released after nine years in prison.
Macek told reporters after today's session of the Ivo Sanader inner cabinet that the Blaskic case was not on the agenda because there was no official information about it.
The Hague tribunal's prosecution on Wednesday would not comment on media reports that Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte had moved for a retrial of the former commander of Bosnian Croat forces in central Bosnia on the basis of new evidence provided by a new secret witness.
