The Norwegian diplomat told reporters in the Pristina airport upon his arrival on Sunday afternoon that he had asked for a firmer and concerted action of Kosovo leaders and institutions in the fight against organised crime and corruption.
He added that inter-ethnic relations would be in the focus of his attention during his five-day visit to Kosovo.
Eide said that during his stay in the Kosovo he would not discuss a final status of the province but he promised that he would soon compile a report on the situation in Kosovo which he should submit to the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
After Kosovo, Eide will travel to Belgrade for a two-day visit.
