ZADAR, July 19 (Hina) - In this year's first six months Croatia had sixpercent more tourist arrivals and one percent more overnight staysthan in the same period the year before, the Minister of the Sea,Tourism, Transport and
Development, Bozidar Kalmeta, said on Tuesdayat a session of the commission for coordination and monitoring ofpreparation activities for this year's tourist season.
ZADAR, July 19 (Hina) - In this year's first six months Croatia
had six percent more tourist arrivals and one percent more overnight stays than
in the same period the year before, the Minister of the Sea, Tourism,
Transport and Development, Bozidar Kalmeta, said on Tuesday at a session of the
commission for coordination and monitoring of preparation activities for this
year's tourist season. Kalmeta said that his ministry cooperated
with the Croatian Privatisation Fund and invested more efforts in attracting
strategic investors through the privatisation of tourism sector.
The Ministry and the Croatian Privatisation Fund is analysing agreement
on privatisation in the tourism sector signed so far and in case of any
irregularities the agreements would be annexed or annulled, the minister
said..
Speaking about this year's tourist season, Kalmeta said Croatia was
organised and ready for the arrival of all guests. There are problems, but they
are significantly smaller than last year and we are solving them successfully,
he said.
