We will consider necessary reforms in order to become more competitive and more efficient in catching up with developed countries, Sanader said.
The conference, which will be held under the motto "An Economy Based on Knowledge", is expected to attract a wide circle of participants, including politicians, social partners, professors, media and non-governmental organisations.
In the context of plans to improve the country's competitiveness, Sanader said that the former vice-president of the World Bank, Jean Francois Richard, had held several lectures for government officials in Zagreb over the past two days.
Richard would be a good advisor to the government on international competitiveness, and we will talk to him to see whether he will accept this job, Sanader told reporters, describing Richard as a leading expert on globalisation, competitiveness and knowledge-based economy.
