ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - The leader of the Croatian customs
officers' trade union, Zeljko Popovic, told Hina on Friday afternoon that all
1,800 members of the union plus some non-members had gone on work-to-rule at
all two border crossings except at Gorican and Bajakovo. Popovic
said that the union was satisfied with the turnout.
The unionists were also satisfied with their treatment by the Customs
Administration during the industrial action.
The day-long work-to-rule action by Croatian customs officers, which is
due to end by 10.00 pm today, has caused no delays or traffic congestion at
the border crossings.
The customs officers went on strike after their demands for a pay rise
were rejected by the government.
