The number of overnight stays rose by three percent to 5.39 million.
The January-May period saw a rise of four percent in the number of foreign tourists, namely 1.21 million of them who made 4.17 million overnight stays (a four-percent rise).
On the other hand, the number of domestic holiday-makers was the same as in the January-May period last year, i.e. 482,400 of them who made 1.22 million overnight stays (a two-percent fall).
Hotels registered 1.06 million arrivals (an eight-percent rise) and 3.21 million overnight stays (a six-percent rise).
Camps were second-ranked with 175,700 tourists and their 838,100 overnight stays (an eight-percent rise).
Nautical marinas are the third with 104,200 tourists and their 153,700 overnight stays (a two- and three-percent rise respectively).
