ZAGREB, June 28 (Hina) - A study of the 'Druzba Adria' project on
the integration of oil pipelines from Russia to the Croatian Adriatic coast has
been sent back for the further modification until 1 October, the commission in
charge of evaluating the environmental effects of the project reported on
Tuesday after it held a day-long session in Zagreb. The commission
also asked for some amendments at its previous session on 17-20 January this
year.
The commission chairman, Nenad Mikulic, told Hina on Tuesday evening
that the bodies which had drafted the project should offer more satisfactory
answers regarding the assessments of risks of the oil transport and scenarios
of possible ecological accidents.
The 1850-page study has been drafted by the Faculty of Mining, Geology
and Petroleum Engineering in Zagreb, and the Institute of Oceanography and
Fisheries in Split.
