"I do not want to interfere in the work of state institutions, but it is obvious that in this case they have failed," Mesic said when asked whether he was satisfied with the reaction of state bodies and the Church to the Brezovica case.
Had the institutions done their part of the job on time, had the police and the prosecutor's office done what had to be done, the Church's position today would be easier, Mesic said at the "Rudjer Boskovic" institute where he officiated the presentation of a new electronic microscope.
Asked to comment on the fact that the study on the impact of the Druzba Adria project on the environment would most probably not be greenlighted, Mesic said he advocated a study which would be evaluated and approved by expert circles.
"If the study is not greenlighted, there will be no project," Mesic said.
