The Auto Club of Bosnia-Herzegovina told Hina that the protesters were mounting blockades only at the Kamensko border crossing near the town of Livno. The protest began at 11:00 hrs and will last until 16:00 hrs today.
They prevented the passage of trucks, letting personal cars pass the crossing.
The police prevented protests at the northern border crossings of Bosanski Brod and Orasje, while protesters abandoned plans to obstruct traffic at the southern crossing of Doljani following a request by the parish office in Medjugorje because of the arrival of a large number of pilgrims to that village on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of what some Catholic believe was the Apparition of the Virgin Mary.
The border crossing of Raca on the border with Serbia was also blocked for a short time today.
Some of the disgruntled farmers rallied in front of the Bosnian government headquarters in Sarajevo today to protest against the government's agricultural policy. The farmers insist on restricting the import of agricultural produce from neighbouring Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and on higher subsidies.
