Meron wants to show solidarity with the victims and sympathy for those who lost their dearest in genocide, the tribunal said.
It added that at the commemoration Meron would once again ask for the arrest and surrender to the tribunal of Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, the Bosnian Serb wartime political and military leaders who have been on the run since the Hague tribunal indicted them for genocide.
Chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte has said she will not attend the commemoration unless Karadzic and Mladic have been arrested by then.
About 8,000 Muslims were killed in Srebrenica in July 1995, when the eastern Bosnian town was under UN protection, which prompted the Hague tribunal to label the crime genocide.
