The group includes some 30 victims of the Beslan tragedy whom a group of terrorists on September 1, 2004 took and held hostage for three days in the school's gym.
The guests were welcomed at Zagreb airport by Zagreb mayor Vlasta Pavic.
Pavic was among the first politicians to visit Beslan after the tragedy and offer assistance and rehabilitation for the victims.
The children from Beslan were also welcomed by Russian Ambassador to Zagreb Mikhail Konarovski. Beslan deputy mayor Taymuraz Gabaraev thanked the Zagreb authorities for assistance.
The tragedy in Beslan started on the first day of school last year, when terrorists broke into the school building, where apart from children there was a large number of adults who had taken their children to school.
After they captured the school building, the terrorists set up bombs in the gym, where the hostages were kept for three days without food and water, in unbearably high temperatures.
The situation was resolved on September 3, when several bombs went off, sending children fleeing, with terrorists shooting at their backs to prevent Russian soldiers around the school from returning fire.
Close to 340 hostages were killed, including 178 children. Twenty-six kidnappers were killed in the conflict with the army - mostly Chechens, as well as Arabs.
Chechen leader Shamil Basayev claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that the operation was part of the Chechen rebels' fight for independence.
