MOSTAR, June 8 (Hina) - A group of about 50 Croat and Serb inmates
of a maximum security prison in the central Bosnian city of Zenica on
Wednesday went on hunger strike expressing fear over their personal security,
the Mostar-based Radio Herceg-Bosna reported this evening. The huger
strike was triggered by two incidents in which Croat and Serb convicts were
assaulted by Bosniak (Muslim) convicts.
The inmates on strike, who insist on talks with representatives of
international organisations, have accused the prison's warden Hidajet Japandzic
of covering up the real state of affairs in the prison.
