Borkovic said this was even worse in the light of the fact that two other Croatian veterans, Petar Janjic and Danko Maslov, would be interviewed within the same case by Serbian investigators in Croatia on Thursday.
"In which country do I live?" Borkovic wondered, accusing Croatian state institutions of negligence.
Purda was arrested in Bosnia on 5 January on an international warrant issued by Serbia which accuses him of war crimes in Vukovar in 1991. The charges against him are based on his confession he gave under duress while he was detained in Serbian prison camps in 1991.
The committee's chairman, Ante Kotromanovic, said he would send a rush note to relevant ministries and judicial agencies with a request to inform the committee about the cases of Tihomir Purda and Veljko Maric, who is standing trial for war crimes in Belgrade.
Kotromanovic recalled that they had already asked relevant institutions to brief the committee about these cases two weeks ago, but they had not received any response.
