NATO spokesman Derek Chappell told reporters in Sarajevo that the purpose of the operation was to gather information about Karadzic and other war crimes indictees and their supporters.
Local media reported that the house was currently occupied by Karadzic's wife, Ljiljana, and that the persons found in the house were questioned.
Miroslav Popara, a spokesman for the East Sarajevo Police Department, said that about 40 NATO troops and a number of vehicles took part in the raid and that local police were also involved.
Popara said that the house was owned by Karadzic's daughter, Sonja.
