"The SDP maintains a restrictive position about possible coalitions with the HDZ and the HSP, we prefer not to form such coalitions and believe that they could be formed only in extraordinary situations, as exceptions," SDP president Ivica Racan told a news conference after a session of the party's head committee on Saturday.
He said the SDP would discuss those possible exception with its main coalition partner -- the Croatian Peasant Party.
Asked who was the most acceptable coalition partner to the SDP in Zagreb, Racan said the situation in Zagreb was solved, but addressed the reporters to talks to the city branch of the SDP.
The SDP head committee resumed its session. It is expected to appoint another two advisory bodies -- for the political system and for international relations.
