Friday a message calling for peace and unity among the Croatian people and for
avoiding the unnecessary dramatising of the current situation, the HBK
secretariat said in a statement on Saturday. During the three-day
convention, the bishops met Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Culture Minister
Bozo Biskupic to obtain more detailed information on the situation regarding

all efforts should be made to achieve that goal, reads the statement.
Other topics discussed at the convention were pastoral duties in local
communities, the church media, TV and radio coverage of religious ceremonies,
the work of the HBK's commission for relations with the state, etc.
