SARAJEVO, May 5 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina Security Minister
Barisa Colak and Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksy in Sarajevo on
Thursday signed a statement on the implementation of an agreement on the joint
fight against international terrorism, organised crime and drug
trafficking. The Bosnian Council of Ministers and the Turkish
government signed the agreement in 2000, but at the time Bosnia did not have an
adequate ministry or police agencies on the state level to conduct such joint
activities.
Colak stressed that Turkey and Bosnia had similar goals and priorities
in the struggle against terrorism and organised crime.
The Turkish minister said international terrorism was a cause for great
concern to his government. He added that Bosnia could send its police to
Turkey to undergo special training for combating terrorism and organised
crime.
