The group held its constituent session on April 21, electing as group president Wajid Khan, a Liberal deputy in the Canadian parliament's lower house, the Croatian Embassy said in a press release.
The group also adopted a statute which says the main goal is strengthening friendship, cooperation and relations between Canadian and Croatian parliaments and peoples.
Also elected was the group's executive committee.
Khan initiated the establishment of the group. At his invitation, the Croatian charge d'affaires in Ottawa, Ante Barbir, spoke about the political and economic situation in Croatia, notably the government's efforts to make Croatia join the EU and NATO.
