ZAGREB, April 19 (Hina) - An independent candidate running for the
Mayor of Zagreb, Boris Miksic, on Tuesday announced the names of 51 candidates
on his list and said he expected to win at least 30 per cent of votes in the
capital in local elections scheduled for May 15. Among the
candidates on his slate are business entrepreneurs, young people, a popular
singer, a former secretary general of the Croatian Olympic Committee and a
television reporter.
Miksic said that his plan was to raise the standard of living using an
aggressive economic model which provides for a 20 per cent annual increase in
production and export.
