The day of the Pope's funeral had been declared a day of mourning and flags on all government and other institutions were lowered at half mast. International organisations operating in Bosnia-Herzegovina paid homage to the Holy Father in the same way.
The head of the Islamic community in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mustafa Ceric, on Friday again conveyed his condolences to the Catholic Church in the country.
"The departure of Pope John Paul II from this world has left a great void. It will be hard to replace his moral authority in the world," Ceric said in a letter to the Catholic faithful and Cardinal Vinko Puljic.
