During his stay in Belgrade, Petersen met Serbian President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, Serbia and Montenegro Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic and the head of the Serbian government's coordination centre for Kosovo, Nebojsa Covic.
Petersen said he was encouraged by the readiness of Serbian President Tadic to accept the UNMIK's proposal on the establishing of dialogue at the highest political level, notably when it comes to security.
According to a statement issued by Kostunica's office, the UN official and the Serbian Prime Minister agreed that talks between Pristina and Belgrade start in the nearest future and that task forces for the return be established.
Tadic's office issued a statement saying that the official belgrade was ready to talk part in talks on all issues important for the live of Kosovo residents.
