OSIJEK, Dec 27 (Hina) - Four "S" letters in the Cyrillic alphabet appeared on a monument erected in memory of victims of the Serb rebellion in the eastern Croatian village of Lovas on Tuesday, the Osijek police reported on Wednesday
adding that perpetrators of this provocative act are still unknown.
OSIJEK, Dec 27 (Hina) - Four "S" letters in the Cyrillic alphabet
appeared on a monument erected in memory of victims of the Serb rebellion in
the eastern Croatian village of Lovas on Tuesday, the Osijek police reported on
Wednesday adding that perpetrators of this provocative act are still
unknown. On Tuesday afternoon, a local policeman noticed those
symbols, large 107 x 263 centimetres, on the monument erected on the site of a
mass grave.
The provocative symbols, which were used by Serb rebels during the
aggression against Croatia in the Homeland Defence War, were written in wax.
They were yesterday removed by the police that would inform the local office of
the state prosecutor of this provocation.
