LJUBLJANA, Dec 13 (Hina) - Slovenia has not received from Croatia
any official proposal for talks about the activation of the Ecological and
Fisheries Protection Zone (EFPZ) and it fully supports the position on that
matter conveyed to Croatia's top officials by European Enlargement Commissioner
Olli Rehn and European Commission President Jose Manue Barroso, the Slovene
Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried on Wednesday evening by the
Slovene press agency STA. The statement was in response to Croatian
Foreign Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic's statement after a recent meeting
with Rehn that Croatia was conducting talks about the EFPZ with all interested
sides.
"Slovenia expects Croatia to respect the trilateral agreement of 4 June
2004 and refrain from unilateral measures regarding the EFPZ until an
agreement is reached that will be acceptable to all sides," the Slovene
ministry said in the statement.
